Raising Loving Men
and learning to love our men more
“To create loving men, we must love males. Loving maleness is different from praising and rewarding males for living up to sexist-defined notions of male identity. Caring about men because of what they do for us is not the same as loving males for simply being. When we love maleness, we extend our love whether males are performing or not.”
You’re a Mother Raising Boys or Girls
How do you show that you love maleness?
How do you model this for your son or daughter?
What’s your relationship to divine masculine energy?
How do you honor your son for his traits of provider, protector, and leader?
Do you perpetuate a story of masculine lack?
RAISING LOVING MEN: 4-WEEK COURSE
Two Group Video Calls
Ongoing Self-Directed Discussion Groups
Starts January 7, 2024*
Week 1 - Intention setting and self-directed inquiry to find out what’s blocking your love for maleness, so that you can more authentically honor your son for who he is as a person.
Week 2 - Group video call #1 - We’ll share our struggles and delight in raising boys. Reflect on the following writing prompt: How does your ability to respect masculine energy impact you as a mom?
Week 3 - Self-directed inquiry about how historically women were dependent on men for safety, solace, and security. If men have the perceived resources of power and money, then how do you subtly compete with other women for resources? What do your sons and daughters learn from this?
Week 4 - Group video call #2 - How living in a patriarchy hurts men and women and their abilities to be fully expressed human beings. Gain skills to help your son feel respected in his full range of emotions.
Participants will take part in a self-directed discussion group through Voxer—a walkie-talkie app—that allows everyone to share and respond at their own pace.
*Exact dates for Zoom calls TBD based upon group availabilty.
